SEBI lays the framework for social stock exchange (SSE)
SSE functions as a regulated funding platform to allow for-profit social enterprises and not-for-profit organisations with a social purpose, to raise fund.
Why SSE? - By leveraging private sector participation government can reduce the burden of achieving development goals.
- Better project implementation as the performance of enterprises listed in SSE would be closely monitored.
- SSE will work under the regulatory ambit of SEBI.
Social audit should be mandated.
